Social media has originated since the 1970's, a memorable time where Tom Truscott and Jim Ellis came from Duke University where they created a form of social media at the time allowing internet users to post messages. Web 2.0 was referred to the beginning of social media presence. Influencers use social media to earn credibility within a specific industry where they can convince others to act upon their suggestions.
